Defending state champion Teurlings Catholic has dominated Division II wrestling in Louisiana for a decade. That dominance is a virtual guarantee to continue at the LHSAA state championships this Friday and Saturday at Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier. Three-time defending Division II state champion Teurlings Catholic remains the clear favorite to repeat as state champion when the LHSAA state wrestling tournament takes place Feb. 10-11 in Bossier City. The Rebels flexed their collective muscle at the annual Ken Cole Invitational at Comeaux High School on Saturday. Teurlings easily captured the team title with North DeSoto a distant second. Tait DuPont named new Athletic Director for Iberville Parish

The middle of the school year brings changes within schools including athletics leadership. Iberville Parish Schools have promoted Tait DuPont, Plaquemine High School Athletics Director and Head Baseball Coach, to the role of Athletics Director for the parish's schools. Dupont succeeds the retiring Paul Distefano. “I’m so excited about the new position," Dupont said. "I will be able to help all of our athletic programs in Iberville Parish; from high School, to middle school, to elementary school."
