Jesuit’s William Good commits to Tulane baseball

Jesuit two-way baseball standout William Good verbally committed to Tulane via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

Good, a rising senior, helped Jesuit-based Retif Oil capture the Crescent City Sports Prep Summer League and reach the finals of the Louisiana American Legion tournament last month after the Blue Jays reached the Division I semifinals during the high school season.

In 31 games of the prep season, Good hit .307 with 21 RBI and eight stolen bases. On the mound, he was 4-1 with a save and a 2.33 ERA, striking out 57 in 39 innings of work.

Good was named the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s Amateur Athlete of the Month in July 2021 after leading Retif to the state Legion title, batting .412 and going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA during the month. That honor came two months after he helped the Blue Jays win their record 21st prep baseball state championship.

Good is the second Catholic League product in a week to commit to new Green Wave head coach Jay Uhlman in the last seven days. Archbishop Rummel rising junior Giancarlo Arencibia verbally pledged to the Wave last week.
