2020 Byrd Football Game Notes – Game #2 vs. Haughton

The second edition of the 2020 Byrd Football Game Notes – Game No. 2 vs. Haughton. Thursday’s game between Byrd and Haughton will be the District 1-5A opener for both teams. Byrd will be looking to snap its three-game losing skid to the Buccaneers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Area players plentiful in LHSSCA girls all-state soccer squads

Greater New Orleans area players dominate the Division I first team all-state team announced by the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association. Seniors Brooke Cutura, Jordan Grigsby and Grace Murders of state champion Northshore lead the way, along with three players from Mandeville. Those include Caroline Aertker, Aubrey Olin and Maggie Sides. Dominican also placed three on the first team, including freshman Olivia Incamina, sophomore Caroline Blais and junior Stella French. With regular-season and championship events canceled for the remainder of the year, the LHSAA has released All-Academic teams, usually honored at state championship events.
