Area Prep Wrestling Report for Sunday, Dec. 18

Defending Division I state champion Brother Martin continues to impress on the mat.

The Crusaders won the annual Bulldog Brawl at Vancleave High in Mississippi, edging Daphne, Alabama for the top spot. Van Cleave finished third with Baldwin County, Alabama fourth and John Curtis Christian finishing fifth in a good showing.

Individual winners for the Crusaders were Logan Dacuyan (106), Noah Confident (113) and Hunter Chabert (126).

In the Tiger Clash at Hahnville, Archbishop Shaw took first place with host Hahnville second and Destrehan third.

Shaw had six individual winners in Chase Termine (106), Giovani Malta (126), Carson Dalton (138), Brandon Crespo (182), Mason Wilson (195) and Raymond Howard (285).

The Tigers had three individual champions, including Alex Cook (113), Davin Wieland (132) and Jayden Boyle (160).

The Wildcats had two winners, including Jacob Britt (120) and Gideon Bowman (220).

John Curtis had a pair of champions in Aden Laborde (182) and Anthony Smith (195).

In dual meet action, Archbishop Rummel handled Lakeshore 52-16.

Rummel won four of the seven matches contested while the others were all forfeits.

Neil Borne (160) won by fall for the Raiders while Dominick Joppa (152) and Tyler Baumy (170) scored pins for the Titans.
