Softball: Slidell-Covington, Salmen-Lakeshore matchups to open district play

Area Prep Softball Report for Wednesday, Mar. 6

After a quiet Mardi Gras day for area softball teams, several swing back into action Wednesday, including a pair of district openers.

At Slidell, Belle Chasse (5-2) travels to Northshore (2-0) at 1 p.m. while Slidell (3-5) hosts rival Covington (3-4) at 3:30 p.m. in a District 6-5A contest.

Uptown, it will be East Jefferson (0-1) taking on De La Salle (1-1) at 2 p.m. at the Riverview Carrollton Complex.

McMain (2-1) plays at Lusher Charter (2-0) at 2 p.m., Riverdale (2-1) travels to Ursuline Academy (0-2) at 4 p.m., Salmen (0-1) is at Lakeshore (3-1) at 2 p.m. in a District 8-4A contest and Terrebonne (0-2) heads to Marrero to take on John Ehret (0-2) at noon.
