Soccer: Rummel downs Shaw as Takpor sets record

Area Prep Basketball Report for Thursday, Jan. 19

In a District 7-II matchup Wednesday night in Marrero, Archbishop Rummel handled Archbishop Shaw, 9-1.

The story was senior Tobo Takpor, who had a hat trick and broke the school record for the most goals in a season. Takpor now has 30 goals with the previous record being 28.

Junior Chris Wallace had two goals while seniors CJ Koppeis, Iulian Nicolau and Colin Torry each scored a goal, as did junior Adriel Hernandez.

Rummel (17-4, 3-2) will travel to Newman Friday at 7 p.m. while Shaw (5-11-2, 2-5) will host New Orleans Military & Maritime next Tuesday.
