Soccer: Lusher blanks Morgan City

Area Prep Soccer Report for Saturday, Jan. 9

Top-ranked Lusher Charter remained unbeaten, shutting out Morgan City 6-0.

Senior Alexander Blanche had two goals and an assist to lead the Lions while junior Russell Brown, junior Aidan Kriek, sophomore Tenchi Otten-Rashad each added a goal for Lusher while there was one own goal scored. Freshman Gabe Pizzolatto had an assist. Senior Jourdan Schumacher and sophomore Enrique Herazo combined to pitch the shutout in goal.

Lusher (12-0-1) returns to action Tuesday at home against St. Michael at 6 p.m. while the Tigers (4-7-1) will also return to action Tuesday night, hosting E.D. White Catholic at 7 p.m.

In District 4-1 action, Fontainebleau went on the road and shutout Hammond 7-0 in the league opener for both teams.

Senior Diego Bonnett came up huge with a hat trick while junior George Gonzales knocked in a pair of goals. Tyler Miller and Will Rocha each added a goal. with a pair and one each from Tyler Miller and Will Rocha! Ben Rabalais pitched the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs.

Fontainebleau (7-5-5, 1-0) will host Ben Franklin today at 3 p.m. while the Lions (0-10, 0-1) return to action at St. Paul’s Tuesday at 7 p.m.
