Soccer: Jesuit, Ursuline among winners Friday

Jesuit is poised to earn the top seed in the boys soccer Division I playoffs.
In a matchup with a chief rival, Jesuit left no doubt in a 3-0 win Friday over Brother Martin at Lafreniere Park in a District 8-I matchup.
The Blue Jays led 2-0 at halftime on goals by Nick Danna and Nick Mallen and added an insurance goal in the second half from Gavin Liantonio.
Jesuit (15-1-2, 4-0) closes its regular season this afternoon against Country Day.
Brother Martin (6-7-4, 2-1-1) closes its regular season, hosting Mandeville Monday.
In girls action, Ursuline Academy defeated Thomas Jefferson 4-2.
The teams were tied 2-2 at the half before the Lions scored twice in the second half to post the win.
Junior Ava Gumpert was the star, recording a hat trick while freshman Sanai Hunter added the fourth goal.
Ursuline (12-3) plays its regular season finale Monday at Covenant Christian.
The Jaguars (10-6) have concluded their regular season.
