Soccer: Christ Episcopal boys, girls blitz Salmen

Area Prep Soccer Report for Thursday, Nov. 15

With a young, talented team getting better, Christ Episcopal is a team to watch in boys soccer this season.

After reaching the Division IV state playoffs and winning an opening round match last season, the Wildcats appear primed for an even better season this season.

Christ Episcopal opened their season in impressive fashion Wednesday, drilling Salmen 8-0 in Covington.

The Wildcats scored four goals each in the first half and second half.

Junior Eli Jones led the way with a hat trick for Christ Episcopal while junior James Miles had two goals and an assist. Junior Jacob Baudean, sophomore Alex Hill and freshman Callum Newberry added a goal for the winners.

Christ Episcopal returns to action on Monday, Nov. 26 at Chalmette at 6 p.m. while the Spartans will host Pine on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.

The Christ Episcopal girls also whipped Salmen by the same score, 8-0 in its season opener. The Lady Wildcats will also next play at Chalmette at 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 while the Salmen girls will also play at Pine on Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
