Soccer: Ben Franklin blanks Lakeshore

Currently fourth in the latest LHSAA Division II power rankings, Ben Franklin rolled at home Saturday over Lakeshore 6-0 in boys soccer.

The Falcons scored twice in the first half to lead 2-0 at the break. Sophomore Jameson Young recorded a hat track, scoring once in the third minute from Alex Michael, another in the 75th minute from Jacob Chapital and a third unassisted in the 75th minute.

Junior Armand Duplantier scored a pair of goals, including on a corner from Fleming James in the 36th minute and another unassisted goal in the 58th minute. Junior Alex Michael added the other goal in the 28th minute.

Ben Franklin (12-4-4) returns to action next Tuesday, hosting neighbor and four-time defending Division II state champion Holy Cross next Tuesday at 4 p.m. in what should be an outstanding match. The Titans (6-10-3) travel to East Ascension at 7 p.m. Wednesday,
