After losing their opener, the Owls claimed a district title for the first time by winning seven straight games to capture the 8-5A crown and to earn the eighth seed in the Class 5A playoffs. Then, the Owls got to host their first playoff game since 2004, before Hurricane Katrina ravaged the school and St. Bernard Parish. He will serve as the Lions’ hitting coach and camp coordinator. No stranger to the ranks of the Southland Conference, Pemberton was previously a member of the Nicholls staff for five seasons under head coach Seth Thibodeaux. Fourth edition of the 2021 Byrd Football Game Notes – Gm. #4 vs. Haughton On Friday, Sept. 24, the Yellow Jackets will make the first of three trips across the Red River to Bossier Parish. Byrd will battle the Haughton Buccaneers in the piney woods of east Bossier Parish in the District 1-5A opener for both teams. Kickoff between the Jackets and Buccaneers is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Harold Harlan Stadium.
