One of the things I love about sports is that there is almost always a chance at redemption. It’s usually one pitch, one shot, one play or one game away.

Such is the case for the LSU football team.

After losses to Florida State and Ole Miss earlier this season, the No. 14 LSU 6-2) has one last chance at No. 8 Alabama (7-1) to beat a highly-ranked team and make a bold statement about its possible playoff chances, which have been on life support for more than a month.

Can the Tigers pull off the upset in Bryant-Denny Stadium?

Yes they can. Book it.

Here is the rest of the “Saturday Seven” as I make some “Sports Takes Sure To Be Wrong (Although We Know The Majority Of These Will Be Right).”

No. 24 Tulane 35, East Carolina 17: The last time the Pirates had a good quarterback former Saint Jeff Blake was on campus. That’s not a good history.

No. 23 Kansas State 24, No. 7 Texas 20: It’s another Upset Special. With Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers expected to miss another week with a shoulder injury, Maalik Murphy should start again. The Wildcats are a solid team due to have something good happen to them against a good team. This is an upset worth taking a flyer on.

No. 2 Georgia 41, No. 12 Missouri 17: If the Bulldogs are going to lose this season it’s going to be against a college football blue blood, not the Tigers.

No. 9 Oklahoma 30, No. 22 Oklahoma State 27: This rivalry game will be tough for the Sooners, but their talent should prevail.

No. 5 Washington 42, No. 20 USC 24: How the overrated Trojans are still ranked is a mystery. Don’t let the stats fool you. USC has the worst defense in college football, and it will be exposed.

No. 15 Notre Dame 24, Clemson 17: It’s been a rough week for Tigers coach Dabo Swinney, which puts the pressure on him and his team to win a big game. Look for Clemson to respond with a good game, but the Irish have the better talent and should prevail.
