As Lee Corso would say, “not so fast, my friend.”
While the overwhelming expectation all week has been that Derek Carr would not play Sunday against Tampa Bay, that is now in question.
The New Orleans quarterback was able to throw at practice Friday, working in limited fashion. He is now listed as questionable for the noon contest with the Buccaneers.
Also questionable is tight end Foster Moreau, who returned to work for the first time this week in limited fashion Friday after missing last week’s game at Green Bay with an ankle injury.
Three players have been declared out for the game, including starting right guard Cesar Ruiz (concussion), starting cornerback Paulson Adebo (hamstring) and rookie safety Jordan Howden (finger). Ruiz and Adebo missed last week’s game at Green Bay while Howden replaced the suspended Marcus Maye in the starting lineup against the Packers.
The Buccaneers list four players as out, including cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Derek Pitts. Rookie defensive lineman Kalijah Kancey and linebacker SirVocea Dennis will also not play Sunday.
Starting cornerback Carlton Davis (toe) questionable, meaning both NFC South teams are depleted in the secondary. Ex LSU star Devin White and run-stuffing defensive tackle Vita Vea are also listed as questionable.
