Caesars Superdome

Although the news Wednesday may not be cause for panic but it is cause for pause.

The Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District (LSED) issued a statement to The Advocate saying the New Orleans Saints were negligent in updating payments in their share of the cost of the ongoing renovations to the Caesars Superdome.

It did not take the Saints long to respond. The organization issued a statement later in the afternoon stating that they are committed to paying in full the $200 million pledged for the project to be completed. The issue is the Saints asking for certain documentation pertaining to the job.

Super Bowl LIX is scheduled for February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome.

New Orleans was originally set to host the Super Bowl in 2024 but asked that the date be pushed back to 2025 to allow for the proper amount of time to complete the extensive renovations in all phases. The renovation experienced some delays during the COVID 19 pandemic.

With so much at stake for all involved, the expectation is that whatever the Saints are asking for will be delivered and both sides will meet in the middle to achieve the desired goal for all parties.

A failure to do so would be one of epic proportions and simply cannot transpire.
