New Orleans native Regis “Rougarou” Prograis will face former world champion Terry Flanagan of Great Britain on Saturday, October 27 at the UNO Lakefront Arena in the first round of the World Boxing Super Series.
Tickets starting at $30 go on sale Friday, Sept. 7 at 8 a.m. CDT from Ticketmaster and the Lakefront Arena box office.
Prograis (22-0, 19 KO) is the top seed in the WBSS super lightweight tournament. The fight will be his second this year at Lakefront Arena. Prograis scored an eighth-round TKO over Juan Jose Velasco on July 14.
“I’m very excited to fight again at home in New Orleans,” said Prograis. “I know what to expect and the people of New Orleans, my biggest supporters, know what to expect. It will be a very special night on October 27th.”
The WBC Diamond Title is also on the line for both Prograis and Flanagan (33-1, 13 KO).
A release from the World Boxing Super Series suggested that the Prograis-Flanagan card would also feature another of the quarterfinal fights in the Ali Trophy eight-man tournament in the super lightweight division.
