Edna Karr standout edge rusher Jonathan Bax switched his pledge Monday from Southern Miss to TCU.

The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder committed to Southern Miss on June 11th over offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Colorado, Tulane, Duke, South Alabama. McNeese and Northwesten State.

TCU came up with an offer Sunday, enough to sway him. Bax is the 14th verbal in the Horned Frogs’ 2023 class.

Bax is ranked as the top rated 2023 edge rusher in the greater New Orleans area. He can line up in a two-point stance or with his hand in the dirt. His explosive first step is complemented by a red hot motor. He is primarily used as a pass rusher and will need some work in pass coverage. Bax also holds a 3.88 GPA.

Former LSU defensive back and Amite native Carlton Buckels is the defensive back coach for the Horned Frogs who handled the recruiting responsibilities for Bax.
