Recruiting: Edna Karr pass rusher Jonathan Bax commits to Southern Miss
Edna Karr’s Jonathan Bax committed Saturday to Southern Miss over offers from Nebraska, Tulane, Duke, Colorado, McNeese, South Alabama and Northwestern State.
The 6-foot-2, 228 pound defensive end/outside linebacker holds a 3.88 GPA.
I had him rated as the best edge rusher in the Greater New Orleans Metro area for the 2023 class.

Bax has the ability to play with his hand in the dirt or standing up a two point stance. He has an explosive first step and plays with hot motor. Primarily a pass rusher, Bax has not been used as much in pass coverage. He displays good lateral movement and always seems to be around the ball.
Bax represents the seventh pledge for the Golden Eagles in the 2023 recruiting class.
