Ponchatoula quarterback T.J. Finley named Player of Week
Ponchatoula junior quarterback T.J. Finley has been named the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, CrescentCitySports.com, WGSO 990 AM and Friday Night Football Prep Player of the Week for the Greater New Orleans area for week two of the prep football season.
A junior and LSU commit, T.J. Finley had a remarkable performance as Ponchatoula outlasted Denham Springs 64-63. Finley completed 26-of-39 passes for 601 yards and seven touchdowns, rushed for two scores and had the game-winning two-point conversion.
Finley is coached by Hank Tierney. He will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, presented by Home Bank, on Dec. 11 at Rock’n’Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans.
