Arch Manning

Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning has been selected as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Prep Player of the Week for the metro New Orleans area for week four by the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club, Crescent City Sports, NASH ICON 106.1 FM and WGNO/WNOL Friday Night Football.

A senior and University of Texas commit, Manning completed 18-of-29 passes for 357 yards and seven touchdowns in a 52-22 win over Pearl River.

In the process, Manning set several school records, moving ahead of uncle Peyton Manning for career touchdown passes, moving ahead of uncle Eli Manning for career passing yards and moving ahead of Jai Tyler for total touchdowns.

Manning is coached by Nelson Stewart.

“You could not have scripted any better,” Stewart said. “He did everything in this game that have made him great. He extended plays, threw the ball down the field very well, was very accurate in the short game and with RPO’s. He’s playing very free, having fun. I think it has all come together for him. He is playing his best.”

Stewart put the records in perspective.

“Just think about the great players in the program history,” Stewart said. “Jai was superb. Peyton and Eli are Hall of Fame players at the highest level. That speaks volumes about Arch.”

Sponsored by the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Manning will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club on Tuesday, December 13 at The Cannery in New Orleans.
