LSU team huddle at Auburn

LSU has a ranked football team for the first time in almost 13 months.

The Tigers jumped to No. 25 in the new Associated Press Top 25 poll. In the latest coaches poll also released Sunday, LSU has the 27th most votes this week.

Brian Kelly’s team has won four games in a row with the latest victory coming Saturday night at Auburn, 21-17.

The last time LSU was nationally ranked was the preseason last year before a loss at UCLA to open the 2021 campaign.

This Saturday, LSU (4-1) hosts Tennessee, unbeaten and ranked 8th in both polls, in an SEC matchup at 11 a.m.

Meanwhile, Tulane garnered nine votes in the AP poll and six votes in the coaches poll after defeating Houston on the road this past Friday in overtime. The Green Wave managed to win their AAC opener despite playing most of the game with third-string quarterback Kai Horton.

Up next, Tulane (4-1) hosts East Carolina on Saturday at 2:20 p.m.
