Four area boys teams go for titles Saturday to wrap up the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Division I state soccer championships.

In Division IV, a pair of traditional rivals and powers square off again for the title.

No. 2 Newman (15-4-4) battles No. 3 Northlake Christian (14-4-2) at 4:30 p.m. The Wolverines played in the title match in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 while Newman won it all in 2017. Northlake Christian defeated Newman 2-1 in the 2016 Division IV title match and won a state title in 2011. The Greenies won state championships in 1993, 1995, 1999, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2010 and played in the title match in 1998, 2008 and 2013.

In Division I, No. 1 St. Paul’s (27-1-5) once again faces No. 2 seed and defending state champion Jesuit (26-0-7) at 7:30 p.m.

Jesuit rallied past St. Paul’s 2-1 to win the title a year ago.

It is the sixth time since 2007 that the Blue Jays and Wolves will meet for the Division I title. The two teams played to a scoreless tie on Nov. 20 at John Ryan Stadium.

Jesuit has won 13 LHSAA state championships since the sport became an officially sanctioned LHSAA sport in 1987. Jesuit won the first LHSAA title in 1987, edging Rummel 1-0. St. Paul’s is in search of its ninth state title.
