One of the best to ever do it, if not the very bes in school history at his position, is leaving LSU.

Place kicker Cade York announced Saturday he will not return his senior season and instead will declare for the NFL Draft.

York made nearly 82 percent of his college field goal tries including a remarkable 15-of-19 from 50 yards or more over his three seasons in Baton Rouge.

In his final season with the Tigers, the Prosper, Tex. native went 15-of-18 on field goal attempts and set a Tiger Stadium record by converting a 56-yard kick.

In 2020, his six field goals of 50-plus yards broke the school record. The final one of that group, a 57-yarder at Florida, gave LSU a thrilling 37-34 upset win in Gainesville.

His Freshman All-SEC performance in 2019 helped the Tigers on their 15-0 run to the 2019 national championship.
