Lakeshore falls in Class 4A baseball semifinals to South Terrebonne

The run is over for Lakeshore while the magical run continues for South Terrebonne.

Jackson Martin pitched a four-hitter as the 15th-seeded Gators defeated the sixth-seeded Titans 4-0 at McMurry Park in Sulphur in the Class 4A semifinals Thursday.

Martin did not record a strikeout but pitched to contact and his defense did the rest.

Drew Pitre laced a two-run single before Henry Lirette drove in a third run in the third inning to give South Terrebonne a 3-0 lead.

The Gators added an insurance run in the sixth inning on a single by Lirette and an RBI double by Landon Aucoin.

Dominic Letort took the loss for Lakeshore. Tyler Steed led the Titans (25-10) with two hits.

South Terrebonne (20-15) moves into the title game to face top seed North Vermilion, who crushed No. 5 North DeSoto 14-2 in a game shortened to five innings.
