Jamboree football action kicks off Thursday in south Louisiana

Jesuit at Hahnville jamboree

It is time to roll.

Jamborees are set to start in south Louisiana on Thursday at nine different venues.

In the New Orleans area, the Hahnville Jamboree features Bonnabel taking on Jesuit at 5:45 p.m., followed by Grace King battling host Hahnville.

At St. James, it is the River Parishes Jamboree, day one as Assumption faces Port Allen at 6 p.m. before East St. John takes on West St. John in the nightcap.

In the Baton Rouge area, it is the Ascension Catholic Jamboree at Donaldsonville High’s Boutte Stadium as Ascension Catholic meets Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. while in the Denham Springs Jamboree, the host Yellow Jackets take on Dutchtown at 7:15 p.m.

In Bayou country, the Centerville Jamboree has Covenant Christian taking on Hanson Memorial at 6 p.m. while Central Catholic battles Centerville in the finale.

In the Lafayette area, it is the Acadian-Vermilion Parish Jamboree at Crowley with Erath meeting Lake Arthur at 6 p.m. before North Vermilion battles Crowley.

In the Iberia Parish Sugarcane Jamboree at Westgate, the New Iberia junior varsity meets the Westgate junior varsity at 6 p.m. before the varsity squads of Jeanerette and Loreauville square off.

At Cajun field, it is the Lafayette Kiwanis Jamboree with three games scheduled, including Cecilia against Lafayette at 6 p.m., followed by Carencro against Breaux Bridge and Comeaux taking on Northside.
