Girls Prep Basketball Playoff Report for Saturday, Feb. 22

There was just one girls prep basketball playoff game played Friday evening.

In that one, a pair of New Orleans area teams squared off in Metairie and it was a good one, as seventh-seeded Haynes Academy defeated No. 10 seed Ben Franklin 38-37 in a Division II regional round game.

The Yellow Jackets (20-13) advance to play at No. 2 St. Louis Catholic in the quarterfinals. The victory avenged a 40-33 loss to the Falcons on Feb. 10 on the lakefront. Ben Franklin ends its season 17-14.

The Saints crushed No. 15 De La Salle 81-19 on Wednesday.
