Ex-Saints left tackle Terron Armstead to join Dolphins on five-year contract

Former Saints left tackle Terron Armstead has inked a new five-year deal with the Miami Dolphins for $87.5 million plus incentives.

The contract includes $43.4 million in guarantees.

Miami’s primary focus this offseason was to overhaul their offensive line which ranked near the bottom of the league.

Armstead made three Pro Bowls during his time in New Orleans. Set to turn 31-years old this July, he played in 97 games, starting 93.

Due to injuries, Armstead missed nine games in 2021. He’s has various injury issues cost him game over several pro seasons.

The third round draft pick (75th overall) by the Saints in 2013, the Arkansas Pine Bluff product opened eyes at the NFL Combine after turning a 4.71 time in the 40-yard dash.

His first season in New Orleans began as a backup to Charles Brown, but Armstead’s career took off December 22, 2013 when he earned his first NFL start against Carolina.
