Donaldsonville names Darnell Lee as new head football coach

Darnell Lee

Donaldsonville has turned to a proven, successful new head coach to lead its football program.

Darnell Lee takes over the Tigers program after a solid stint as the head coach at East Ascension.

Lee served at East Ascension for eight seasons (2016-2023), compiling a 52-38 record, taking the Spartans to the playoffs seven times. Lee previously served as the head coach at Northwest High.

Lee takes over for Brian Richardson, who spent eight years at Donaldsonville, posting a record of 42-43 before being dismissed. The Tigers were 3-7 this past season, falling to Amite 21-6 in the Non-Select Division III playoffs.
