The streak continues for West Monroe as the mastery of their district by the Rebels continued with a hard earned 28-14 win over Ruston Friday night.

As a result, West Monroe maintains the top spot in the new CrescentCitySports.com Top 10 rankings in Class A for week seven.

Evangel holds steady in the second spot while John Curtis remains third. Acadiana moves up to fourth after another convincing win over Comeaux with unbeaten Scotlandville fifth. After a signature win over St. Paul’s, Covington moves up to sixth while St. Amant is up to seventh after a big win over Catholic High of Baton Rouge. Barbe moves up to eighth after a huge overtime win over Sulphur with Rummel falling to ninth and Catholic tenth.

Karr continues to prove the Louisiana Sportswriters wrong.

For some inexplicable reason, those voting in that poll have place the defending state champion Cougars as low as eighth. This past week, they were sixth. Try again!

Karr remains our top-ranked team in the CrescentCitySports.com Top 10 after a solid win over McDonogh 35. Defending Division II state champion St. Thomas More is second with Warren Easton third. Unbeaten Benton is an impressive fourth after a huge win over Minden with unbeaten Lakeshore now fifth. Plaquemine moves up to sixth with idle Neville seventh. McDonogh 35 drops to eighth. Rivals E.D. White Catholic and Vandebilt Catholic take over the ninth and tenth spots, respectively, with 5-1 records. The two rivals will meet in a week 10 showdown.

De La Salle scored an easy Homecoming win over Haynes to hold the top spot in 3A with University Lab a close second after another resounding victory. Unbeaten Sterlington is third with West Feliciana fourth and unbeaten Jena fifth. St. Charles Catholic got back on track and is sixth with Iowa seventh. St. James is eighth after a thrilling win over Donaldsonville with unbeaten Archbishop Hannan and Caldwell Parish rounding out the top 10.

Notre Dame survived, rallying past Kinder 38-37 to keep the top spot in 2A with unbeaten Amite second. Catholic of New Iberia is third with Welsh fourth and Newman moving up to fifth at 6-0. Defending 3A state champion Riverside, which had its game canceled and now has a seven-game season is sixth with Many up to seventh. St. Helena is up to eighth with Dunham moving in at No. 9. Ferriday drops to tenth after a tough loss to 5A Denham Springs.

Unbeaten defending state champion Logansport rolled on and remains the top team in 1A with Kentwood second. Haynesville rallied past Green Oaks to hold third with Oak Grove fourth and West St. John up to fifth. Unbeaten Cedar Creek is up to sixth after a huge win over Ouachita Christian with unbeaten Lafayette Christian and Ascension Catholic seventh and eighth, respectively. Opelousas Catholic is ninth with Catholic-Pointe Coupee tenth.
