NEW ORLEANS – A rivalry matchup with district championship and playoff implications is on tap Wednesday on Crescent City Sports.

CCS will live stream the District 7-5A showdown between Destrehan and Hahnville from Boutte, with coverage on CrescentCitySports.com beginning just prior to the 4 p.m. first pitch. CCS’ Ken Trahan will be joined by Kenny Francingues in the booth.

The matchup between the St. Charles Parish rivals is the second of a two-game district series. The Wildcats won the opener 8-0 on Monday in Destrehan.

If Destrehan (18-12, 8-2) completes the series sweep, it will clinch the outright district title and move closer to hosting a first-round Class 5A playoff game next week. If Hahnville (15-17, 8-3) wins, it will wrap up no worse than a share of the district title and ensure itself of a playoff berth.

Entering Monday, the Wildcats were 19th and the Tigers 31st in the LHSAA’s unofficial Class 5A power rankings.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 11th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced more than 350 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2021-22.
