Brother Martin Football

Another prominent game in the Catholic League has been canceled as a result of COVID-19 issues.

The Gentilly rivalry contest pitting Brother Martin against St. Augustine, scheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium, is now off due to virus concerns at St. Augustine.

The Purple Knights had their district opening game with John Curtis Christian canceled for the same reason.

Brother Martin athletic director Mark Wisniewski confirmed the cancellation to Crescent City Sports. The Crusaders improved to 2-0 on the season by defeating Jesuit 45-42 in their league opener this past Saturday night. St. Augustine is 0-1, having lost at Zachary 41-32 on Oct. 2.

The Crusaders are looking for an opponent this weekend.
