Boys Basketball: Bonnabel opens district play with easy win over Higgins

Area Boys Prep Basketball Report for Saturday, Jan. 26

In Westwego, Bonnabel easily handled Higgins 81-40 in the District 8-5A opener for both teams.

The Bruins (19-5, 1-0) used balanced scoring to get the job done

William Allen led the Bruins with 21 points, Rodney Munson had 15 and Donte Mitchell finished with 12 points. Theo Johnson and Tyron Williams each added 10 points for Bonnabel. The Bruins have won seven of their last eight games.

Both teams return to district play next week. The Bruins return to action next Wednesday at East Jefferson at 7:15 pm while the Hurricanes (4-11, 0-1) play at West Jefferson next Tuesday at 6 pm.
