Bowling: Slidell boys, Patrick Taylor girls get historic wins

Making its Louisiana high school bowling debut Wednesday, Slidell got off to a great start, defeating Pearl River 27-0 at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Hunter Mullen had a middle-game 267 as part a 630 series to lead the Tigers. Michael Broussard opened with a 233 and rolled a 565 set and Landon Hoffman had a 203 opening game for Slidell, which rolled a 2,941 team series.

Izaiah Auglair closed with a 188 for a 437 series to lead Pearl River.

Girls – Patrick Taylor 15, Kenner Discovery 12: The Tigers rallied from an 11-5 deficit in the final game to overtake the Swamp Owls at Westside Lanes for their first win in two seasons.

Patrick Taylor overcame a 40-pin deficit in total pins in the final game and won five of six individual matches in its rally.

Gabrielle Viviano led the Tigers with a 429 series. Taylor Daniels had an opening-game 172 as part of a 432 set for Kenner Discovery.

Girls – Academy of Our Lady 26, Mount Carmel 1: Also at Westside, The Penguins posted a second consecutive dominant victory over the Cubs.

Laney Sasso had a 502 series, including a 181 final game, to lead Academy of Our Lady. Skylar Alexander had a 466 set as the Penguins rolled a 2,448 team series.

Maggie Robertson’s third-game win provided MCA’s lone point.
