KENNER – Brother Martin senior Ricky Carmona became the first Louisiana high school bowler in two years to roll a perfect game in varsity competition Tuesday in the first game of the Crusaders’ match with Crescent City Christian at AMF All Star Lanes.

Carmona started the day with 14 consecutive strikes – the 12 in his perfect game and two more in the second game – before finally missing.

Three of Carmona’s teammates – Carson Colletti, Dylan McDonald and Jacob Vangilder – have 300 games to their credit in Saturday leagues at AMF.

The last Louisiana bowler to shoot 300 in varsity competition was Andrew Levron of Central Lafourche in 2020. In the New Orleans region, former Crusader Cody Schaffer rolled a perfect game in the 2017 playoffs, also at AMF.

Brother Martin went on to win the match 27-0. Click here for a full recap of Tuesday’s area prep bowling action.
