KENNER – Ignited by a 300 game from senior Ricky Carmona, Brother Martin rolled the state’s highest series of the 2022 high school bowling season Tuesday in a 27-0 victory over Crescent City Christian at AMF All Star Lanes.

The defending boys state champion Crusaders (7-0), who entered the week atop the first release of the LHSAA’s power ratings, fired a 3,902 team series, topping their own previous state high of 3,676.

Carmona followed his perfect game – the first in varsity competition in the New Orleans area since 2017 – with games of 215 and 205 for a 720 series.

No other Crusader bowled all three games but eight of the 10 who saw action averaged 200 or higher. Ethan Porta had games of 237 and 257, Dylan McDonald followed a 221 with a 236 and Carson Colletti rolled an opening-game 252.

Chaz Emery led the Pioneers (0-5) with a 472 series.

Archbishop Chapelle 20, Mount Carmel 7: The defending girls state champion Chipmunks won six of eight points in the final two games in defeating the Cubs at AMF.

After a tight opening game in which the teams split six individual matches and Chapelle (5-1) held an 18-pin lead in total pins, the Chipmunks rolled a season-high 884 team score in game two to extend the lead to 11-5. They grabbed six more points in the final game to close out the match and the three points for super total.

Elizabeth Hamilton had a middle-game 212 as part of a 488 series to lead Chapelle.

Taylor Hunn had a 502 series and Emily Heller a middle-game 173 to pace Mount Carmel (2-4).

Pope John Paul II 20, St. Augustine 7: The Jaguars clinched the match after two games, defeating the Purple Knights at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Pope John Paul (1-3) won seven of eight points in each of the first two games, led by Jack Kingman’s middle-game 149. Zander Delaney had a final-game 155.

St. Augustine (0-7) rallied with five points in the final game, paced by Will Sam’s 190 and a 186 from Kingston Jones.
