Area Prep Basketball Report for Friday, December 20

Make it five in a row for Helen Cox.

The Cougars outlasted Donaldsonville 66-65 in overtime Thursday evening in a thriller on the West Bank.

In a game that was tight throughout, Donaldsonville led 14-13 after one quarter and 27-25 at halftime. Helen Cox took the lead 46-44 going to the final quarter. The Tigers tied the Cougars in regulation, forcing overtime, where Helen Cox outscored Donaldsonville 4-3 for the victory.

Helen Cox (12-2) returns to action against Dutchtown today while Donaldsonville fell to 9-5.
