Wrestling: Holy Cross wins Beast on the Bayou Tournament

Area Prep Wrestling Report for Friday, Dec. 29

Holy Cross is ready to contend for Division I state honors in 2024.

The Tigers served notice at the Beast on the Bayou Tournament, winning the event Thursday at Archbishop Shaw.

Holy Cross downed Division II power and defending state champion Teurlings Catholic 43-31 in the championship match to claim the title.

The two powers split the 12 matches contested.

Scoring falls for the Tigers were Michael Klein (106), Nicholas Sauerwin (132) and Gunner Guidry (150).

Archbishop Shaw took fourth place while Archbishop Rummel was fifth.
