Wrestling: Holy Cross tunes up for Brother Martin with solid win over St. Paul’s

If anyone is to challenge Brother Martin and Holy Cross for supremacy in Division I wrestling this season, it would be either St. Paul’s or Jesuit.

Wednesday night in Gentilly, Holy Cross tuned up for a showdown with the Crusaders with a solid 48-15 victory over St. Paul’s.

The Tigers won 10 of the 14 matches contested.

Scoring falls for Holy Cross were Evan Frost (106), Jacob Frost (113), Michael Lundin (126), Brady Butler (152), Ryan Doody (220) and Anthony Sciambra (285).

Winning by pin for the Wolves was Ben Davidson (145).

Holy Cross will host Brother Martin in a showdown next Wednesday at 6 p.m. while the Wolves travel to Catholic to face the always tough Bears in Baton Rouge the same night.
