West St. John to forfeit Riverside game following brawl
Friday’s scheduled matchup between West St. John and Riverside Academy in Edgard will go down as a forfeit to the Rebels.
The LHSAA made the decision on the heels of a late-game brawl in last Friday’s matchup between West St. John and Mentorship Academy in Baton Rouge. Mentorship won the game 26-14.

The forfeit loss will drop West St. John to 2-3 with only a Week 10 road matchup with St. Martin’s remaining, while Riverside will improve to 3-4 going into a game against Country Day on Nov. 5.
The Rams entered Week 9 at No. 4 in the unofficial LHSAA Class 1A power rankings.
