West Monroe’s Jerry Arledge steps down as head football coach, taking Athletic Director role
West Monroe’s Jerry Arledge has stepped down from his role as head football coach. He is set to become the Athletic Director for the high school, according to a release Monday.
The school has begun the search for Arledge’s successor on the field.
Replacing the legendary Don Shows in 2013, Arledge posted a record of 103-22. Arledge has been at West Monroe since 1992 when he became the defensive coordinator of the Rebels. Under Shows, West Monroe won eight state football championships (’93, ’96, ’97, ’98, ’00, ’05, ’09, ’11).
