West Monroe runs past Alexandria, 37-17

West Monroe quarterback Garrett Kahmann and running back Cameron Wright combined for 202 yard rushing as the Rebels rolled to a 37-17 win over Alexandria Senior High.

The win is the 87th consecutive in District 2-5A play for the Rebels.

West Monroe humped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead wben ASH had a field goal wiped out due to a flare start then missed the retry. Kahmann set up a Wright touchdown run with his own 67-yard jaunt.

Wr9ght finished with a pair of rushing touchdowns on the night.

The next Trojan possession ended with a punt snap over the painter’s head, and the Rebels had a short field leading to a 22-yard Reece Aultman field goal.

West Monroe defensive back Noby Harris got the defense in on the scoring action with his 47-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the game away.

West Monroe hosts Pineville for Homecoming next Friday on Don Shows Field at Rebel Stadium.
