West Monroe High School head football coach Todd Garvin has been placed on administrative leave, according to a statement the school’s principal Dan Lane.

Rebels assistant Kevin Davis has been named acting head coach while the first-year head coach Garvin is on leave until further notice.

The reason for the leave has not been confirmed by school officials at this time.

SI.com reports via Buck Ringgold of SBLive Sports that four West Monroe football players have been hospitalized this summer for heat-related issues including one on Monday.

Garvin took the job at West Monroe this past offseason after two years at the helm at Ouachita Parish.
