Volleyball: Crescent City wins district; Dominican, Mandeville, Slidell also with Tuesday victories

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Wednesday, Oct. 25

Crescent City Christian clinched the District 7-V title Tuesday with a 25-2, 25-17, 25-15 victory over First Baptist Christian.

Annabelle Rouquette led the Pioneers with nine kills, seven digs and two aces, Jensen Heaphy had 17 assists, 10 digs and five aces and Madison Foster finished with eight digs, six aces and two kills.

Crescent City Christian (23-13, 6-0) finishes its regular season at home Thursday against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m.

First Baptist Christian (6-13, 4-3) will play at Houma Christian Thursday at 4 p.m.

Dominican handled Bonnabel 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 in a District 7-I matchup.

Junior Bailey Couret led Dominican with eight kills while junior Zoie Mitchell had five kills and three aces. Senior Gabby Marcello had 16 assists and sophomore Molly Baker finished with 11 assists.

Dominican (32-2, 3-1) will host Mount Carmel Academy today at 5:30 p.m. in a rematch of the top two teams in the Division I power rankings. The Cubs handed Dominican a district loss on October 11.

The Bruins (13-11, 1-4) play a district match at Chalmette today at 5:30 p.m.

In District 5-I action, Mandeville overcame Covington 23-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-14 at Covington.

Junior Hanna Hunter had 15 kills, senior Kate Bellows had 11 kills and 10 digs and Riley Edwards had six kills. Junior Ella Marquez had 25 digs. Senior Elle Warren finished with 40 assists.

The Skippers (17-8, 5-0) remained on top in league play and will host Lakeshore today at 5:30 p.m.

The Lions (15-21, 0-5) return to district play Thursday at Hammond at 5:30 p.m.

Also in District 5-I, Slidell downed Fontainebleau 25-19,, 25-23, 25-21, knocking Fontainebleau out of a tie for first with Mandeville in league play.

Junior Reagan Robinson had 18 kills and 17 digs, junior Demoni Lewis had 10 kills and 15 digs and senior Kayla Rachel had five kills and three aces. Sophomore Ella Kate Spilling had 12 digs and junior Justice Kingston had 10 digs. Sophomore Ava Labat had 46 assists.

The Tigers (32-5, 5-1) have completed their regular season schedule.

The Bulldogs (20-14, 4-1) host Mandeville Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
