Volleyball: Country Day, Belle Chasse, John Curtis post wins Thursday

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Friday, Oct. 27

Country Day fought off Parkview Baptist 25-17, 27-25, 22-25, 24-26, 17-15.

Lia Beverly led the way with a career-high 20 kills while Gigi Dazet had 14 kills. Addison Launey had 20 digs and Maggie Schneider finished with 54 assists.

Country Day (22-9) will host Cabrini today at 4 p.m. in its regular season finale.

Belle Chasse closed its regular season with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-10 victory over Thomas Jefferson.

Senior Kloe Johnson led the attack with 11 kills and three blocks while senior Tylen Bell had eight kills and three aces. Freshman Raya Dickinson finished with 26 assists and 11 digs.

The Cardinals end their regular season 25-15 heading to the playoffs.

John Curtis Christian hit the road and fought off Patrick Taylor 25-20, 26-28, 25-16, 25-23.

Ina Smith led the attack with 13 kills while Imari Daniels and Makayla Morter each had 11 kills. Makayla had 13 digs. Imani Daniels added nine kills. Alyzia Cola-Grayson had 47 assists and 10 digs. Marissa Taix added 17 digs.

Cecilia Veters led the Tigers with 16 kills and 15 digs while Shia Harlan had nine kills and three blocks. Gabrielle Webber had 25 assists and six digs.

The Patriots (28-6) will get a high seed in the upcoming playoffs while the Tigers fell to 13-13.
