NEW ORLEANS – Due to expected near freezing temperatures on Friday night, the New Orleans Privateers baseball team’s season opener against Alcorn State has been moved up to a 4 p.m. first pitch at Maestri Field.

Temperatures are expected to get into the mid-30s in the New Orleans area for Friday evening which precipitated the move up in time.

The Privateers will open a three-game set against Alcorn State, whom they have never lost to on the diamond in 10 career meetings. Chris Turpin is scheduled to start the 2021 season opener for New Orleans.

For those who cannot come to the game, it will be broadcast on NASH Icon 106.1 FM. All games will be carried on the Privateer Sports Network with select games to air on NASH during the 2021 season.
