NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight week a Tulane University baseball player has been honored by the American Athletic Conference, as redshirt sophomore outfielder Ethan Groff was named league player of the week on Monday.

Groff is the first Tulane Player of the Week since Collin Burns on April 26, 2021. In addition, sophomore left-handed pitcher Dylan Carmouche was selected to the league honor roll for the second straight week.

Groff was named Player of the Week following a dominant performance over four games last week. He hit .417, scored six runs on five hits and collected four RBI. The Orlando native leads the Green Wave in runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, RBI and slugging percentage. Groff also is perfect in the field with 17 putouts this season.

Carmouche earned a spot on the honor roll after he helped guide Tulane to a 2-1 series win over No. 15 ranked La Tech this past week. The Denham Springs, Louisiana, native pitched a complete seven-inning game on Sunday holding the Bulldogs to one run on four hits while not giving up a single walk. Carmouche leads the Green Wave staff with 13.00 innings pitched and 11 punch outs.
