NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University football players Jeffery Johnson, Larry Brooks, and Joey Claybrook were named to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List on Thursday.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game. It also features the best senior collegiate football players and top National Football League draft prospects in the country. The Reese’s Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Johnson earned a spot on the watch list after he started all 12 games for the Green Wave in 2020. He finished with 33 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries on the season. Johnson scored the first touchdown of his career with a fumble recovery at Houston last season. Johnson was also named preseason First Team All-AAC by Phil Steele.

Brooks was named to the Watch List after he recorded 58 tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble on the 2020 season. He led the team in interceptions and finished fifth in total tackles. Brooks was named to Phil Steele’s Second Team Preseason All-AAC team.

Claybrook was a staple on the Green Wave’s offensive line, which led the way for the conference’s leading rushing offense. He was named Honorable Mention All-AAC after the 2020 season. Claybrook joins Brooks on Phil Steele’s Preseason All-AAC Second Team.

Tulane opens the 2021 season against Oklahoma, with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4. The game will be aired nationally on ABC. The Green Wave return to 16 starters and 53 letterwinners.
