LA Tech has trio named to 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech had a trio of Bulldogs represented on the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List in defensive lineman Levi Bell, defensive back Elijah Hamilton and running back Marcus Williams Jr.

Bell, a native of Cedar Park, Texas, appeared in nine games for Tech in the 2020 season. He registered 19 total tackles, including nine solo, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Bell had at least two stops in seven of his nine games played in 2020, including a career-high four tackles at North Texas on Dec. 3.

Hamilton, a Roswell, Ga., native, transferred to Louisiana Tech after spending the previous five seasons at Vanderbilt where he appeared in 41 career games. Hamilton registered 24 tackles and three pass breakups as a fifth-year senior in 2020, posting multiple stops in five games.

Williams, a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., transferred to Tech after a five-year career at App State where he appeared in 42 career games. Williams rushed for more than 500 yards in each of his four seasons played, totaling 2,216 career rushing yards. He posted six career games with 100-plus rushing yards.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL Draft process. Reese’s Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted and 36 selected in the first three rounds this year’s NFL Draft. The 106 figure represents 41 percent of the NFL Draft. This year’s game will be held Feb. 5 and broadcast on the NFL Network. Practices will be live on ESPN and NFL Network hosts a daily recap show each evening in primetime.

Louisiana Tech opens the 2021 season at Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. Tech will then open a three-game home stretch against Southeastern on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. inside Joe Aillet Stadium.
