Nothing has changed at the top of the Crescent City Sports Top 10 polls from jamboree week as we enter the 2019 regular season.

In Class 5A, John Curtis Christian did not get to play a jamboree but the Patriots are certainly the top team in Class 5A as they get ready for their battle of the titans against three-time defending 4A state champion Karr this week. Catholic High of Baton Rouge was very impressive in its jamboree victory. Two-time defending 5A state champion Zachary is third while West Monroe, off of a close jamboree loss to Neville, is fourth. Archbishop Rummel remains fifth but the Raiders have a host of injuries heading into the regular season. Keep an eye on East St. John, coming off a tremendous jamboree victory over potent West St. John, 47-6.

Karr is the top team in 4A heading into its showdown with Curtis with local rival Warren Easton sitting second. Neville moves up to third with Evangel Christian fourth and St. Thomas More fifth. Carencro moves into the top 10 at No. 7 after an outstanding jamboree showing with Plaquemine now 10th. Carver is definitely a team to watch.

Two-time defending Division II state champion University High maintains the top spot in 3A with St. James second and Union Parish moving up to No. 3. Sterlington and De La Salle drop to fourth and fifth, respectively, off of jamboree defeats. McDonogh 35 slips into the No. 10 spot off of an impressive jamboree win over Landry-Walker. E.D. White Catholic is now a team to watch off of a jamboree tie with Terrebonne.

Defending Division III state champion Notre Dame sits on top in 2A with rival Catholic of New Iberia second. Defending Division IV state champ Lafayette Christian is third with St. Charles Catholic up to fourth and Many fifth. Amite is still a real threat at No. 6 while Newman and Kinder are teams to watch.

Oak Grove tops the Class 1A poll after an impressive jamboree showing with Southern Lab up to second off of a big jamboree win over Amite. Ascension Catholic is third with West St. John fourth and Country Day fifth. Ouachita Christian is dangerous at No. 6 while Vermilion Catholic cannot be ignored.
