State soccer championship finals begin Wednesday in Lafayette

DIVISION I DIVISION II DIVISION III DIVISION IV

A pair of state championships are set to be decided in Lafayette as the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA state soccer championships get underway at the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns Soccer/Track complex.

In the girls Division III title match, top-seeded Vandebilt Catholic (17-4-4) battles No. 2 Teurlings Catholic (21-2-4) at 5 pm. Vandebilt Catholic is in the title match for the second straight season. The Terriers finished second a year ago.

That match will be followed by the boys Division III title match pitting No. 2 University High (20-2-3) against No. 4 Loyola Prep (19-8-5).
