St. Paul’s, Holy Cross, E.D. White, Episcopal of Acadiana top latest state soccer rankings

Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, Jan. 23

St. Paul’s, Holy Cross, E.D. White Catholic and Episcopal of Acadiana top the latest Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings released Monday.

The Wolves (19-2), who remain unbeaten in-state, remain the unanimous top-ranked team in Division I with St. Amant (20-1-1) second. Lafayette (15-1-7) is third with Dutchtown (12-2-1) fourth and Catholic of Baton Rouge (12-2-2) fifth. Jesuit (15-4-5) is up to sixth. The Blue Jays downed Brother Martin 2-1 at John Ryan Stadium Monday. Northshore (12-3-3) is seventh. The Panthers edged Hammond 3-2 Monday.

Holy Cross (13-3-1) is the top-ranked team in Division II. The Tigers received nine of the 10 first-place votes. Beau Chene (14-6-5) is second with Lakeshore (7-7-3) third. East Jefferson (8-7-2) is fourth with Woodlawn of Baton Rouge (10-3) fifth. Unbeaten Riverdale (12-0) is sixth and received the other first-place vote. Ben Franklin (8-7-3) is seventh.

E.D. White Catholic (14-4-3) is the unanimous No. 1 team in Division III. The Cardinals whipped St. Charles Catholic 8-0 Monday. Vandebilt Catholic (11-6-4) is second with University Lab (10-3-6) third. Loyola Prep (11-10-5) is fourth and Holy Savior Menard (12-8-5) is fifth.

Unbeaten Episcopal of Acadiana (16-0-1) remains on top in Division IV in unanimous fashion with Northlake Christian (12-1-2) second. The Wolverines downed Country Day 4-2 Monday. Episcopal (14-3-6) is third with Newman (13-2) fourth and St. Thomas Aquinas (10-6-4) fifth. Country Day is ninth.
